Beyond Like

The contractor remodeling our house keeps asking us a simple question:
“Do you love it?”

If our response lands anywhere near “we like it,” he keeps digging. Adjusting. Refining until we actually love it.

And now, when people ask if we like our contractor, we say, “No, we love him!”

It made me realize the opposite of dislike is not love, it’s “like.” In order to get to love, we need to jump to an entirely new level. The best work doesn't stop at "like." It pushes further, refines more, and creates something people genuinely love.

Like is easy. Love is earned. The difference lives in the details.
